Ruby Marie Hickman, 101, of 1600 Liberty St., Covington, died at 6:47 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 1998 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Born on July 10, 1896 in Kent Township, Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Voorhees and Josephine (Ballah) Clem. She lived in the Foster area and Marshfield in her early life and had been a resident of Covington since 1921. Mrs. Hickman was the oldest resident of Covington and was a member of the First Assembly of God. Her marriage was to Oshel H. Hickman on Oct. 15, 1914. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1979. Surviving, are: one son, Virgil (Wilma) Hickman of Covington; a granddaughter, Joyce (Larry) Reed of West Liberty, Iowa; a grandson, Admiral Donald E. (Libby) Hickman of Vienna, Va., four greatgrandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter; and three great-great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Katheryn Elizabeth Davan and a brother, Cecil Clem. Visitation was Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Service there on Wednesday with Pastor Donald Stevens officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. – jlr
